Started the day by booking a session on the bench at the upholstery studio where Su goes - they have a longnose stapler I can use. Managed to get rid of the the gimp pins that were poking through the chair and then started to mend the resultant holes with brown paper and pva glue. Then decided it wasn’t too hot in the shade so did some weeding . LM messaged to see if i wanted to go to the viewing at the auction rooms. They have an auction every Saturday morning and are apparently the largest auction house in the country- though I wouldn’t be surprised if more than one house lays claim to that. Saw a chair I quite liked but not enough to bid. Definitely worth investigating in future though. Got home and the decorator arrived. I’d phoned him earlier in the morning as he was supposed to be contacting me to arrange an estimate but hadn’t. It turned out I had sent my address to the wrong phone though, so was pleased i called him. He seemed like a nice man and can come late July /early August. I need his estimate first but will probably say yes . Played with the kittens for a bit, finished the weeding and then had a nice cool shower. Was going to do more painting of my chair but decided I couldn’t be bothered!
There are lots of these self seeded poppies in front of my hedge. I don’t really like them but decided I would let them flower ( but not develop seed pods) before I pull them out. I do love the way that the buds unfurl though
