Windy

A windy and damp day with spells of drizzle over the island, we took a drive to Vathi, the capital of Ithaca, just to get out for a couple of hours. Quite a few shops and bars were shut due to the weather and the boats in the harbour were bobbing up and down a lot, and splashing the pavements with sea water.

The main photo is taken at Mprosta Aetos, a couple of miles before getting into Vathi where the gull seem to be enjoying the gusty wind watched by another on a small jetty.

We were going to go out for a meal tonight but the restaurant called to cancel so we'll go tomorrow....the weather set to be much better. It looks like the weather we've had is making its way to the UK - much needed for the gardens!
