Lessons not Learnt

On the way towards Paris we stopped at Orodour sur Glanes the site of a WW2 Nazi (systematic) massacre of 642 civilians and the burning of their village (328 homes ) to help "hide" the evidence. The French have preserved the entire site as a powerful memorial of the events of 10 June, 1944. The village has been rebuilt nearby. Unfortunately humans have not learnt the lessons from such terrible events as witnessed by ongoing cruelty in places such as the Ukraine and Sudan.
