Thirds

Scenes from the "Three Counties' Show".

The annual Red Devils display never fails to be impressive.  Extras include scenes from the falconry, blacksmithing, vintage vehicles, competitive cutting up bits of wood, and doing silly things on quad bikes.

However, the most important extra is that E (and Patient 1) got placed in her first entry to the flower show.  E also clocked up another 3rd for some sweet peas and everyone (except the judge) thinks there should have been another for the Hosta.

OK, so the show is a farming one but, while I'm not vegetarian, people trundling animals round to show look how many pieces you can cut this one into - doesn't appeal to me as much as the demonstrations of many and various forms of personal skill.
