Village Day

There seemed to be more stalls than ever at Village Day this year. This is the highlight of village life. The High Street is closed to traffic today for the parade by schoolchildren. The theme of this year’s Village Day was ‘Safari’ and the children were dressed accordingly. My WI had its usual cake stall which included three sumptuous raffle hampers. (Extras) Music for the day was provided by a silver band. (Another extra).
More band music now as we watch on tv the repeat of Trooping The Colour which took place in London this morning. Splendid sights.
