The bedraggled magpie after bathing
This old and very heavy Le Creuset pot sits on the roof of the cabin in the garden holding down the rather truculent roofing felt which needs replacing. It fills with water during rain fall and particularly when there are massive storms. Various birds such as jackdaws and crows enjoy a drink and a wash.
Today a pair of magpies were very happy to dive in and splash about madly. Just before i took this picture from my study window the other magpie had flown off with water spraying around its wings. I rather liked the bedraggled look of this magpie before it too headed for the hills.
