Horse Guards Parade

If the Anti Monarchists had their say, this is how the Horse Guards Parade would look on a Saturday afternoon. Children would ask "what is a parade" and "what are horse guards" and "what are horses". A democratic country is rather dull. The elected head of state can't even mount a horse, not to speak of handling or riding a horse.  :-)

I have thoroughly enjoyed today's afternoon watching The King's Birthday Parade (Trooping The Colour). Beautiful horses. Precise marching. I read that  there were 1400 officers and men, and two hundred horses...

In the extra more pictures of the parade and the last picture is The Family on the Balcony. I checked and found out that the Duke of Kent is my age. :-)
