Oberfeld

The Oberfeld in Darmstadt is part of the city. It is the local recreation area for city dwellers and fresh air corridor for the city. And of course for bikers and wanderers from outside. These 135+ hectares (over 330 acres) was in the past owned by the Grand Duchy of Hesse, later property of the state of Hesse.
Usually, when I go to Darmstadt by bicycle I pass this area at the opposite, the south-side. So it might have been so full of poppies before. But for me it was the first time I saw so, so many of them.
