Archie...
Today wasn't meant to be terribly taxing, taking a break from the walking, but through a wee series of smaller wee points of interest around Stirling, we actually covered a fair distance and height.
We took our visitors around the three heights of Stirling. Sheriffmuir was first with a brisk wee saunter up the first hundred metres of the Dumyat walk which gets you wonderful views across the Wallace Monument and and Stirling. This is Archie, one half of Archie and Izzy, enjoying the wind and view.
We then headed to the Wallace Monument and tackled the steeper than you reckon ascent up to the actual monument. Alas the statue that resembles Sir Mel of Gibson has been moved to Brechin Castle. Apparently when they re-modelled the bottom cafe, there was not applicable safe space for the statue so it was returned to the sculptor who for one reason or another donated it to Brechin Castle.
Lastly we headed into Stirling town and took a wee walk around which ended up in a walk up to the castle.
All in all a rather pleasant wee troop round some old haunts for me, new to our visitors.
