Painting Big Gus

We have a wonderful artist, Joey Hayes in Augusta and she bravely takes on the task of teaching aspiring artists to paint.  Well tonight was our chance to learn how to paint our recently departed Southern Elephant Seas - “Big Gus”.  It was so much fun and if you look closely in the foreground you will see Big Gus.  We have all reached the moment when we attempt to do justice to this majestic creature.  What a great night, by the end of our session there were several very worthy masterpieces, not mine I have to say :)). 

There is so much to love about this wonderful community.  So far we’ve joined the Gym, the Golf Club and the Tennis Club.  We walk with a lovely group on a Monday afternoon, the Hash Harriers and taken part and enjoyed so many events that have taken place since we moved here on the 27th of April.  We’re still trying to be really brave and join “The Flounders” swimming group who swim a couple of times a week at Flinders Bay, diving in at around 7.30am!!  That’s proving to be our greatest challenge :)).
