Candles in the Park

Chestnut "candles" that is. They are now in full bloom, and our local park has particularly fine avenues of chestnuts, and many individual trees, mostly of some maturity. I've shown some of this before: last year we were roughly a month earlier at this stage.

All too soon, the candles will go, and it will seem a surprisingly short time before the conkers start falling.

On our walk today, we came across some other trees showing off much blossom, as in these balls here. Do any of you Blippers know what kind of tree this is? In case it helps, this is a closer shot of one of the blossom-balls.
