Abertarff House Inverness

This is Abertarff House (1593) the oldest dwelling house in Inverness. It wasn’t open today so I had to peek through the railings. It is owned by The National Trust for Scotland, but I get the feeling they’ve never known quite know what to do with it. Its rooms are devoid of artifacts or furniture. One I gather is now a cafe, another an exhibition space where you can read information boards telling you about something. How exciting.  My challenge to the NTfS would be to recreate what the house looked like in its heyday, and have guides wearing the right garb. They could be called The Ghosts of the House.
