Harry and Eve’s wedding
Woke up to lots of rain, and we all thought the worst. Went down onto the beach to run the dog around for a bit. Got ready for the wedding and I decided to go with the fairer weather outfit and crossed my fingers. Needn’t have worried as it didn’t rain any more. We got to the church on time and Mum was swept off to the front. It was a lovely wedding, with the bride led up the aisle by her three year old nephew and the bridesmaids. We all threw rose petal confetti and went on to the reception in a marquee in the field of the bride’s family farm. It was all idyllic the marquee was surrounded by a meadow shimmering with insects. And on the side of that were ruins of a Roman era village. The sun shone into the evening but it wasn’t too hot
We sat down to lunch/dinner at 5.30, the speeches were good and dancing started at 8.30. We took Mum home at around 10 ish after a good time on the dance floor. Rory stayed to the bitter end and then got lost on the ten minute walk home, mainly because he couldn’t find his way off the farm. He finally arrived at 3am. I was up, unable to sleep and welcomed him in and then went back to sleep
