MYSTERY FRUIT
Can you guess what kind of fruit I found at the Farmer’s Market, today?
Here are some hints:
-This fruit is grown on deciduous trees,
that are native to Asia & North America;
but are also cultivated in Southern Europe.
They seem to prefer warmer climates, which
is maybe why this tree grows here in Southern California.
-The leaves are used for silk worms.
-The fruit resembles a blackberry, but the fruit can ripen to pink, red, or purple. It has a very subtle, sweet flavor.
-This fruit is consider to be a SUPER FOOD,
because:
-it is good source of iron & Vitamin C
-seems to lower blood sugar & cholesterol
-it improves digestive health, blood circulation & immunity
-it promotes brain & liver health
Thank you to MoveableParts who recently
posted a Blip about enjoying this wild fruit on a bike ride. When I saw small containers FOR SALE at the Farmer’s Market, I wanted to try them. Delicious!
Do you know what this fruit is?
