i came; eyesore; i concurred

we borrowed a friend's holiday home in dorset. it's an old forester's cottage far from the beaten track set in woodland and edging onto a protected area of heathland - in short, heaven, and we've been coming here for 15 years.
2 years ago the section of wood closest to the house was severely thinned as the forestry commission took out the confers leaving the native species but last week, to our dismay, they clear-felled the remaining section of wood.
a local 5 year old put it succinctly when she said 'what are they doing to our world!'
