Armed forces weekend

This weekend has been Armed Forces Weekend - with a display of the vehicles yesterday, and a parade and open air service on the seafront today. We missed the service as we were in church. It was odd listening to a sermon while outside we could hear the different military bands and the marching. We did manage to catch the tail end after our service. During the war there was a huge naval presence in town and many of the groups left from here for D Day so it will always be very important here.
