Peewits at Udale Bay
Back over in Scotland again. Did the Highland Cross yesterday, a charity run/cycle across Scotland, from Kintail, through Glen Affric and Strathgalss to Beauly. It was hot and sunny at the start and my time was much slower than last year, but everyone said the same. So, a rest day today --- still hot and Sunny, so took a drive over to Udale Bay, an RSPB reserve near Cromarty. Lots of Oystercatchers and Peewits (Lapwings) and a couple Curlews. Lapwings not only have a lovely call (pee-wit), but their feathers are iridescent in in the Sun and they are amazingly acrobatic flyers,
