Catch of the Day - Osprey with a fish

An osprey in Pohick Bay Regional Park in Northern Virginia holding on to it's catch. It was on it's way to a nest about 500 yards to the left. Larger view here.

Update on Little Boy: We took him to the veterinarian today because he has not eaten or taken in water since we brought him home from the hospital on Tuesday. The vet ran all kinds of blood tests and cannot find anything wrong with him. They are keeping him for 1 - 3 days to see if they can give him more fluids and try to force feed him with a syringe. I will not let this go on too long - If he doesn't get his appetite back within a day or two, some hard decisions are going to have to be made. Let's hope for the best and the we will have good news in the in next 24 - 48 hours.
