Great spotted woodpecker flies away after feeding

I'm enjoying having great spotted woodpeckers nearly resident around our garden. It seems we have two or three feeding very often from the sunflower feeder hanging down near the patio.

I saw this one feeding from the window on my study and after it flew off down I went downstairs to collect my camera with a telephoto lens. A short while later I looked out again and saw it on the feeder and decided to try to catch it in flight. 

I pre-focused on a spot where I was sure it would fly through and with enough distance for my further rather slow reaction times to fire the shutter. It seems to have worked reasonably well, though there is room for improvement.
