Hard Standing
John next door has made a brilliant job of converting an old church into a home. Plenty todo but an awful lot done.
He is currently laying the slabs for the hard standing. These are Caithness slabs which were destined for use with works connected to the Edinburgh trams but they were found to be unsuitable for some reason. They are very heavy and in awkward sizes.
He has reminded me of the craft and the work involved in laying slabs. It is not at all easy and to begin with he was doing as much lifting as he was laying as it didn't look right - not that too many folk would have noticed but John would have.
His son Paul has come up to push things on a little. They have been known for robust discussion as they work together. Been very harmonious this time.
