Canterbury
Today we visited Canterbury. We had an excellent personally guided tour of the cathedral, and this photo, we are reliably informed, is on the exact spot of Archbishop St Thomas Beckett's murder in 1170. We also visited an interesting place called the pilgrims hospital (not a hospital in the modern sense), but a place where monks gave free food and accommodation to pilgrims in the middle ages. Henry and Hugh got busted by Bec for running up behind the altar in its chapel. We later attended an evensong service. Henry and I sat up in the back choir stalls with phone very sneakily positioned to follow the cricket scores from the exciting first test. It was the perfect crime.
