Our beach
As much as we loved Nice (and we did very much), the only thing we were not so keen on was their pebbly beach. The beach was sore to sit on and going in and out of the water (though wonderfully warm) was hard going.
Sometimes, we don’t appreciate what we have at home … if only we had better weather, lol.
In other news, I spent the morning reviewing the public consultation for the Musselburgh Flood Prevention scheme, which is costing £96m (includes the Active Toun pathways too) and causing much discussion on local Facebook pages on both sides, those for versus those against.
There were many information boards with maps (very clear and showing all the required works). There seem to be quite a few mature trees coming down and no one could really answer my question as to whether the promised replacement trees will be mature or not. Also, I had a question about why it appears no third sector organisations such as the RSPB, Woodland Trust etc. were included as stakeholders.
That said, there has obviously been a lot of work and effort by experts …
I hope you have had an equally informative day.
