I'd planned still to be in Liverpool today when the replacement bay window was due to be fitted and I was going to leave all the dealings with the windows people to the builders.

On balance I'm glad I was here. It was a very stressful day but by 7pm the window was finally fitted.

MariainWales arrived about 4.30, which was when the work was supposed to be finished, and once the fitters left we ate at the cafe on the corner which has been my go-to place throughout the build when I've needed a meal. It was very good to see her, even though I was quite distracted for much of the time.
