Peony
When we first visited the cottage, just over a year ago, one of the things in the garden that attracted us was a really mature peony plant. There were multiple buds on there when we left 10 days ago, which have since come out. Unfortunately, there has been some heavy rain since then, and many of the blooms have drooped under the weight of their own contradictions and the effects of the rain. So I cut about half a dozen and put them in the one vase we have here, to enjoy indoors.
It's been another long day, but made simpler because I took annual leave for the afternoon, so felt no obligation to answer emails. Our drive up here this afternoon was straightforward and we had enough time to go to Fettes Sawmill where we purchased a garden bench which we managed to squeeze in the car. Unfortunately, it is missing a bolt so Mr A won't be able to finish putting it together. I'll phone them tomorrow about getting a replacement. We also splashed some water on the garden, and had a quick look around to see how things are going. Some weeding will need to be done. As will some swimming!
Talking of done...I'm done. I haven't had anywhere near enough sleep in the last week or so, so it will be early to bed for me.
