Soldier Beetle

Found this beetle on an astrantia flower. I think they're beneficial bugs which eat aphids. 

We have had more rain though it's been gentle. It isn't cold at all. Good growing weather. We had intended a longish walk today but I've got a bit of a cold and frankly I couldn't be bothered. So I've elected to potter and wander rather than march up a hill.
