Classic Wine Country?

We’re in Rhône wine country and there are vineyards as far as the eye can see. We’re told to blame the Romans who came here 2000 years ago. They’ve got a lot to answer for!

Because of the contours around here much of the grape is gathered and sorted by hand and the big pay goes to young men with massive baskets of grapes on their backs staggering down steep dirt and stone paths and steps!

The gathering only takes a couple of weeks but the clearing and pruning goes on all year around.

Well, I thought that was interesting!
