Knapweed ( Centaurea nigra )
Kat had to return home today and as she was taking the "chest" the late Mate made for the studio we drove her home. We had time to relax and have a conducted tour of the garden seeing the changes she had made since our last visit.
One of the noticeable changes was the wildflowers she had planted in the lawn. One of the most noticeable was the Knapweed. As you might guess it is a good source of nectar for pollinators. Also, it is an important food source for Goldfinches and 7 or 8 types of butterfly.
