Shugborough National Trust.
We are at Shugborough National Trust today. A beautiful midsummer feel. Walking through glorious English countryside and then on to the tow path of the Trent and Mersey canal passing over the very old Essex Bridge which spans the River Trent to the other side, where the canal runs parallel to the river. . So much history there in those stones.
We stopped to watch the horses being washed in the river.
After joining the canal towpath it was fascinating to watch a narrow boat going through a lock.
Stephen had to lend a hand to a lady who was trying to open one of the lock gates. Her hubby was steering their narrowboat.
Now we are sitting in a small garden by Gt.Haywood Marina having ice creams and a cold drink before walking back the way we came.
I’ll post a video link to the horses in the water
