Half & Half

Really was a day of two contrasting halves.

The morning was foggy but bright - ideal conditions for photographing the numerous orchids on Scatness (this is one of the marsh orchids).

And the afternoon was dry and clear (with just a wee bit of lingering fog) - ideal conditions for photographing the numerous puffins at Sumburgh Head (see the extra - chosen on the basis that I posted a puffin yesterday - and he wasn't happy about being displaced by an orchid).
