Still Leaning

This morning we caught the train back to Pisa, without any dramas this time. Having dropped our cases off at the hotel, we walked along the Main Street, the Corsa Italia, stopped to lunch on pizza in a little square then on to the Piazza Dei Miracoli, setting for the Cathedral, Baptistery and, of course the Leaning Tower. The three buildings together really are breathtaking, despite the hordes of tourists trying to get their photos of friends and loved ones trying to push the tower upright.

If you walk about 200 yards away from the Piazza, the streets are almost deserted.

By mid afternoon our fortnight seemed to catch up with us so we headed back to the hotel to read for a couple of hours before a final meal in a nearby square and an earl6 night before our flight home in the morning.
