Meet Barbara

She is one strong lady. She had a stroke 15 years ago which has left her hemiplegic yet she still climbs the mountain paths slowly, leaning heavily on her stick, and with a big smile. She was the nurse who initially took over the little hut I go to in Anzeindaz, 25 years ago, creating an association of like minded people who look after the hut and twice a year get together at the beginning of summer and then at the end. As you can see from the extra, it is a very social time! She loves the local mountains so much that she runs the Diablerets Hut with her niece, now in both winter and summer seasons. She is such a dynamo despite her handicap, a true inspiration. I’ll stop moaning about my knees, compared to Barbara I am doing OK!
