Royal Ascot

Bec and I left Elizabeth in charge today and went to the big day at Ascot with my friend Alastair and his girlfriend Jess. Alastair got us into the Royal enclosure which was great. Top hats and tails for us, and big extravagant hats for the ladies. It wasn't as crowded as the other parts of the course and we easily obtained seats right above the kings entrance, at which time the men's hats came off and God save the King was sung. I met my old boss Robbie Waterhouse there who kindly tipped me a 12/1 winner which further raised our spirits. Following the races, the four of us had a wonderful dinner at place called Wiltons, founded in 1742 and one of London's finest restaurants. Just a great day, full of wonderful experiences that you can only get in London. (It also happened to be my birthday).
