A Walk In The Woods

I spent an hour or so walking in the Arboretum up by the Western Washington University campus after work tonight. It's only about a mile from where I live and is a very tempting place to explore. I'm sure it's not a dangerous place, but there are so many side trails and obscure spots that I think I'll get myself a map just to make sure I don't get lost which could be embarrassing so close to home.

This tunnel was blasted through the rock in 1927 and the road put in for access to the top of the hill from the campus. It was a Model T thoroughfare. Now that would have been a fun excursion in 1927.
