Rumbling Through Reykjavik

Another rainy, gray day in Iceland!  Never mind.  We went on a "Super 4 x 4 Jeep Adventure" today -- something that was right up Mr. W's alley!

As you can see from the Extra, this machine had enormous tires ... well, it was enormous all over.  We went off road up in the volcanic hills above the city, through gorgeous swathes of lupines, over boulders, through puddles and streams.  You can tell from the main image that we managed to get the outside of the 4 x 4 very wet indeed!

Amazingly, we took the same tour last year -- with the same driver!

A turnover day with most of the Expedition team and quite a few passengers headed home, and a whole new crew coming aboard.  We depart Reykjavik this evening on the start of the last leg of our mammoth voyage.  Can't believe the time has flown by so quickly!
