The Birdcage

A photo of Deansgate Castlefield viaduct, used Metrolink trams. Taken from the adjacent viaduct which is now a National Trust site filled with plants and art. These viaducts are known to tram drivers (which I am one) as "The Birdcage", and they were formerly used by trains heading into Manchester Central railway station up to the 1960s when it closed.
