Hot sparrow

After the last two exhausting days I got today's blip very close to home.  The sun's been less unrelenting but, as I know from walking Hazel, you quickly get pretty sticky taking any form of exercise.

So I found this little chap at the end of the Close, just outside the now defunct 'Barn Stores'.  He was panting from the heat.  Why he'd chosen to remain in such an unforgivingly barren little suntrap when he could have moved onto the long grass under the ash trees is a mystery to me.  Perhaps he was trying to get a tan.

Not a lot else to report.  It's been a domestic kind of day that will no doubt end in an early night.  Thanks to all of you for your kindness to yesterday's marbled white and have a happy evening  xx
