During my early morning row on the calm misty lake I encountered a whooper swan family. The mother and cygnets quickly headed for the reeds beside the nearest shore while the father swam forwards making loud honks likely indicating that I should follow his antics rather than the family's. I complied until after about 100 m our paths deviated.
