Road to the North
This is the view that greeted me as I drove over the Cairn O'Mount road.
The Cairn O'Mount, at 1473 ft, is the highest point of the B974 road which climbs over the eastern edge of the Cairngorms between Fettercairn and Banchory. There's some interesting facts for you. Now you know.
I've done this route many times and I still always stop to take in the view. Stunning.
It was a very pleasant change from the view I had when I arrived in Edinburgh Airport, to be greeted by the sight of rubbish strewn around everywhere. It was really rather depressing. Imagine what people coming to Scotland for the first time must think. It looked awful.
