HMS Richmond a Royal Navy Type 23 Frigate alongside County Wharf has been open to visitors over the entire AFD weekend. Talking to some of the Ships Company they expect to hit the 6,000 visitor mark by the time they close to visitors this evening.
Ours was a block booking of Falmouth Royal Naval Association members and family and I thoroughly enjoyed it. Only the upperdeck was open to visitors and the route, with strategically placed members of the ships company to answer questions, was enough to satisfy.
There’s a particular ‘smell’ about a warship and I had a fleeting wistful yearning for what used to be before I realised my age now firmly separates me from these youngsters.

Still too tired to do much it was a home delivered pizza for dinner tonight.
