Murderers!

A busy morning of making and this afternoon it was off to Macbiehill for 'gardening club', stopping to collect a couple of passengers en route in Carlops. It was very wet but always lovely to see the ladies (most are 20-30 years older than me) and get some nice home baking too.

As a bonus we'd been invited by our host's neighbour to visit her garden too. What a treat - turns out she is an artist (Simone Lyon) and has built the most amazing house inside a walled garden.

I have serious garden, house and workshop envy! The heads above the window are the death masks of Burke and Hare (left) and two famous phrenologists (right). She was commissioned by the BBC to make them as the originals were toof fragile to use.

We both recognised each other but have no idea where from, no matter, she's invited me back over for a cuppa, which I will gladly take up. She feels like a kindred spirit and a new friend in the making :)
