The EV Adventure Day 1
We had an early start from home for a drive down to Ashford (Kent) for the Eurotunnel to France. Heavy traffic meant a couple of unexpected diversions but the joy of a flexi ticket meant we could jump on the first available train when we arrived. This was the start of a road trip with a difference for us as we’re in our Hyundai electric car. With the continuing expansion of available charging, we’re hoping this should be straightforward, time will tell.
Annie had mapped the route with available fast chargers and the first two chargers were both fully operational and very fast (300kw). It was just a matter of navigating the chargers and even that was pretty simple. Along the way we jumped off the planned route for a couple of miles to revisit the old Reims motor racing circuit. Almost certainly blipped this in the past!!
We arrived in good time for our overnight stay in Nancy in North Eastern France. The hotel has EV chargers, just €10 for the night. Perfect.
