Beam reaching!

James, The Skipper (as BG likes to be called on board) and David, all aboard Saffron while K and the Guv go for a walk ashore.

A bit of a mammoth expedition all round for a few hours sailing, BG and David bringing Saffron round to (almost) Ipswich so we could sail today. The Guv emptying the supermarket's shelves to feed James for the day, thank you all! Finally an early start for K & I, driving from Cov to Ipswich and back!

All that said, the smile on his face (& mine) with him helming Saffron, was worth it. After a while he told me that he didn't need to look at the tiller to check which way to move it to change the direction of the boat. His favourite part was under power, I think that me pointing out that at 9 he was steering something twice as heavy as my car made him think!
