Pre-Laid Anchor

On this picture you can see the end termination on the wire as prepared and described yesterday. Apparently, the A/B's did a good job, because the anchor is still connected on the wire. When you're real close to these shackles, you realize how big they actually are. The anchor we're gonna use tonight is a Delta Flipper of 22 tons, but it can hold much more than that. These anchors have been reported digging in more than 60 meters in the bottom of the sea in soft mud, and to get them out again you need shackles like this.
