Teetin' oot frae the past!
I have returned up north to Turra, Aberdeenshire, this week end for an impromptu family gathering to celebrate a couple of birthdays. I am staying with my sister-in-law again and this time I have brought both dogs with me as Cara had told Bruce what grand walks she had enjoyed on my last visit and he wanted to check them out for himself.
Shortly after arriving we set off for a good long walk and came across this fabulous old Fordson Major tractor looking smug and cared for in its own personal shed. It is fitting that it should look so as it will have accomplished a lot of hard work in its day and it is so characterful compared with the modern beasts of today's machinery.
Our walk took us past a couple of farms and through a number of fields where the views were quite splendid across the Deveron valley with acres of oil seed rape shining bright yellow against the darkening sky, which produced an awesome shower just minutes after we arrived back home. Both Bruce and Cara had a fabulous time and are now comatosed at my feet, which is just as well as I am about to enjoy a glass of wine.
