Fort Widley

This is the view from mum's hospital room.
Fort Widley is one of the forts built on top of Portsdown Hill between 1860 and 1868. It was designed, along with the other Palmerston Forts on top of Portsdown, to protect Portsmouth from attack from the rear. After much military use, it is now an Equestrian Centre.
