Attractive invader.

Fireweed. This attractive invasive plant is now coming into flower. It blooms progressively from bottom to top, producing a gracefully tapered shape with magenta to pink petals. It’s popular with bees, there’s one in the photo inside a petal. And reading around I discovered that there’s such a thing as fireweed honey! I like watching it gently waft on the breeze.

And now that the schools are on holiday …. we have a change to cooler, showery weather. It was ever so in Scotland.

We collected some last items for decorating over the next few days.
