Clare College Choir

Yes, they came to Stroud, for the first time in eight years! This is an honour: they're more used to playing larger, more well known venues such as Sydney Opera House....

This concert was the last of their academic year, and therefore time to say farewell to some college leavers. The make up of the choir must necessarily change every year. The programme comprised some sacred music (excerpts from mass for 4 voices by Byrd; Palestrina....) some trad/folk songs; the beautifully-performed Shenandoah: and to finish, Summertime.

Good company, good music, and a happy way to finish the working week.
