Flying start

Sunny but quite cold and blustery today. The day began with another visit from our friendly (or should that be greedy?) Jay. Pete pointed out a newly emerged damselfly - we always get the common red ones around our garden pond. A closer inspection showed there were at least a dozen newly emerged from the larvae. Cue new camera and macro lens.
Last month's theme, Things with Wings turned out to be mostly birds. I'd hoped for more dragonflies, butterflies and other winged invertebrates but they've been a bit thin on the ground (and in the air) what with the unseasonal weather. As we should be in our new house before the end of the month, my theme for June is On The Move. Not sure how that will look yet, but it might involve wildlife.
