Over the fence
The kids and I vacated the flat whilst Danny taught a class to Pino. We went to collect Sarah's post for her and walked back via Asha's new school. Lovely to see this gorgeous tree flowering and coming over from the playground into the street. Last time we were looking through a new school fence was 8 years ago! Asha enjoyed walking home looking at the places she and new friends can drop into as they walk back.
We saw a homeless friend who had a big gash on her head. We went to get coffee and croissants with her. She cried telling us someone had kicked her in the head as she slept in a doorway, then kicked her again as she yelled. I can believe it, I've seen the police kick our friends in the head to wake them up.
I dropped the kids to Danny who took them swimming whilst I headed to San An to do a pastoral with one of the girls.
Home in the baking sun and humidity - 4pm is a silly time to be out. BUT the hush across town was lovely. I love that a peace falls during siesta time.
Today I'm grateful for;
1) Danny collecting a very fancy bottle of local wine someone had bought us and left to be collected!! A gift from the guy on Tuesday.
2) Sitting making jewellery with Nate in the afternoon. Be warned mom, he's made you a bracelet!
3) Time with Pilar.
