Eastern carpenter bee on bee balm
recently planted bee balm also , having had issues with powdery mildew on the stuff in past years I am hoping it stays ok. I also caught a photo of a confusing furrow bee that was actually in focus and some aphids on my roses ( that did not last long after the photo was taken ). I admit though I was hoping for a hummer but the little stinker seems to only hit up the feeder at dusk. the other feeder is often occupied by the extra large hummingbird , ie the downey woodpecker in extras that has figured out how to use it. I have seen it at my delphinium too ( the real hummer ) but only once. perhaps I am not outside just luring waiting for a shot of one enough.
